Camp Program Overview
Our summer camp programs are designed to provide campers the opportunity to have fun while also learning valuable skills to help them with future performance opportunities. Each camp involves an audition component that gets more complex with each age group. Within each of the theatre camps, there will be some larger roles and some that are more ensemble-focused. These casting decisions are based on the strength of the audition.
Please be aware of this prior to registering your child; the cost of tuition guarantees that your child will be well-taken care of as they explore musical theatre in the safe, welcoming environment of our theatre. It guarantees that we will do our best to teach them valuable skills on and off the stage. Tuition does not guarantee that your child will have a lead role in their camp performance. It does not guarantee that they will have a solo or lines of their own to deliver independently. While these are also valuable opportunities, they are not realistic preparation for the auditions they may participate in during the rest of the year. Camp tuition does guarantee that we’ll find as many interesting ways to utilize them onstage as possible as we facilitate opportunities for them to grow as performers. We will focus as much on the responsibilities of leading and supporting roles as we do on the responsibilities of the ensemble.
For the elementary age, we also offer a more music-focused camp that only meets for half days. We will have more information about it closer to the registration date.
Elementary Theatre Camp
THE MUSIC MAN KIDS
Elementary Camp – $225 per camper
- Rising 3rd Grade to Rising 6th Grade
- Rising 6th Graders may choose between Elementary and Junior Camp. They MAY register for both if they’d like.
- Campers must be able to attend each camp day by themselves; we do not invite parents and guardians to stay because it can create a distraction for other students. If your camper isn’t quite ready to be alone, we encourage you to wait until next year!
- Monday, June 1st-Friday, June 6th, 9am-3pm
- Performance: June 7th
- Traditionally, we have enough campers to split the group into two full camps. If we do this again, Group A will perform at 6:30 on June 7th. Group B will perform at 7:30pm on June 7th.
- You will identify your child’s group preference on your registration form, so please go ahead and speak to any friends of your camper who may also be registering so that you can select the appropriate group.
- Campers should bring a water bottle and a lunch with them each day. Please try to avoid peanut butter as much as possible, as we often have many campers with nut allergies.
- This production will be 30 minutes in length.
- Campers will be given a camp t-shirt as part of their tuition. This shirt will make up the base of their costume, and parents are welcome to add additional accessories as they’d like.
