“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.
This production is amateur, and actors are not paid.

Auditions: Tuesday, January 28th from 6:30-9pm.
- To audition, please prepare a 32-bar vocal audition to be sung with an instrumental accompaniment. We encourage you to make a selection from a Broadway show.
- Please record a video containing your song and submit by 1/27.
- We will view these videos in advance of auditions.
- They will help us determine what characters we’d like to see you read.
- On audition day, we’ll begin with cold readings from the script.
- Afterwards, we’ll learn and perform a dance combination.

If you miss more than two rehearsals outside of the ones listed on your original audition form, your role will be recast. We understand that different theatre companies operate with varying expectations; these are ours, so we wanted to ensure that you knew them in advance of auditions!
