Introducing Our Troupe
To answer the demand for more programming for blossoming actors between the ages of 9 and 15, we’ve developed a brand new theatre opportunity within our education department. This theatre troupe will serve as an advanced class for students who want just a little more focus on the acting part of the theatre world! In addition to weekly classes and special workshops, our troupe will also put together non-musical productions to be presented at different times of the year.
The troupe will not focus on musicals; for a musical theatre experience, please visit the ACT I Academy to inquire about their musical theatre company.
How does it work?
All troupe members must audition for acceptance. We will be looking for students who are ready for an advanced theatre education. You can read more about the audition process below.
Once accepted, members will have a weekly class on Thursday afternoons from 5pm until 6:30pm. If they are cast in the fall musical, they’ll be able to just stay through the Thursday evening rehearsal!
In addition to subjects like character-building, audition preparation, and improv, troupe members will also get to learn specialty skills that might include things like stage makeup, directing, or even something like beginning stage combat. We’ll be bringing in special guest teachers throughout the year to help grow our learners.
Class subjects will differ from anything taught in other Grand acting classes.
Those who are invited to join the youth troupe will be asked to pay a $250 tuition for each semester of participation. These funds will cover the cost of each class as well as all other fees associated with their involvement (costumes, scripts, etc.).
