Camp Program Overview

Our summer camp programs are designed to provide campers the opportunity to have fun while also learning valuable skills to help them with future performance opportunities. Each camp involves an audition component that gets more complex with each age group. Within each of the theatre camps, there will be some larger roles and some that are more ensemble-focused. These casting decisions are based on the strength of the audition.

Please be aware of this prior to registering your child; the cost of tuition guarantees that your child will be well-taken care of as they explore musical theatre in the safe, welcoming environment of our theatre. It guarantees that we will do our best to teach them valuable skills on and off the stage. Tuition does not guarantee that your child will have a lead role in their camp performance. It does not guarantee that they will have a solo or lines of their own to deliver independently. While these are also valuable opportunities, they are not realistic preparation for the auditions they may participate in during the rest of the year. Camp tuition does guarantee that we’ll find as many interesting ways to utilize them onstage as possible as we facilitate opportunities for them to grow as performers. We will focus as much on the responsibilities of leading and supporting roles as we do on the responsibilities of the ensemble.

Junior High Theatre Camp

Camp Rock

A classic story of rivalry and power, Disney’s Camp Rock The Musical opens with Mitchie and her friends arriving at Camp Rock, ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock’s very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown!

Junior High Camp – $275

  • Rising 6th Grade to Rising 9th Grade
  • Campers must be able to attend each camp day by themselves; we do not invite parents and guardians to stay because it can create a distraction for other students. If your camper isn’t quite ready to be alone, we encourage you to wait until next year!
  • Auditions: June 6th, 9am-noon.
    • Students will be asked to prepare a song selection prior to the audition. This piece should be no more than 90 seconds in length; they’ll be cut off if they go over that time. They should select something from another Broadway musical that is appropriate for their age and for the role for which they’d like to be considered.
    • On site, students will participate in a dance audition and cold readings. They do not have to prepare for either of these.
  • Camp Days: Monday-Friday, June 8th-June 19th, 9am-4pm
  • Performances: June 19th at 7pm and June 20th at 7pm
  • Campers should bring a water bottle and a lunch with them each day. Please try to avoid peanut butter as much as possible, as we often have many campers with nut allergies.
  • With explicit parent permission, campers will be able to walk to one of the local restaurants Tuesday-Friday of each week. While making this determination, parents should note that campers will not be accompanied by an adult if they walk to one of these restaurants, but they will be required to travel with at least two other campers. Restaurant options will be limited and will be provided each day.
  • Campers will be given a camp t-shirt as part of their tuition.
  • Campers will be primarily costumed by our staff, but we may request assistance with some items!
