Kindergarten-2nd Grade: Adventure On

Space is limited to 8 students. Students will wear masks or face shields during class time and will be properly socially-distanced. Due to space limitations, no one but students will be allowed to attend classes; parents will not be permitted to observe this year until the final presentation.

Explore topics of creativity and self-expression through storytelling and playing pretend. Just like your favorite Paw Patrol heroes, we’ll be exploring actor tools and skills to help build a foundation of performance… and build confidence along the way!

Price: $80 per student for 8-week class (each class will last 1 hour)
Class begins on January 12th and will occur on Tuesdays from 5-6pm for 8 weeks. The final class and presentation will occur on March 2nd.

 

3rd-5th Grade: Building Character

What do the Lego Movie, Inside Out, and the Descendents all have in common? They’re all going to be a part of our acting class, of course! We’ll be using all our favorite movies to explore building strong characters and learn the basics of playwriting and set design. While we’re learning new arts skills, we’ll also be building on important life skills such as self-confidence, creative problem solving, and empathy to prepare for middle school years ahead of them.

6th-8th Grade: Acting from Past to Present

Theatre performance as a long and rich history, and we’re going to use it to build better performers through this class. Starting from prehistoric theatre and moving all the way up to modern theatre, we’ll talk about how the theatre has changed and we’ll practice techniques that have evolved along the way. Students will gain a well-rounded understanding of the art form, and will have a lot of fun along the way!

9th-12th Grade: Acting through the -Isms

Like with anything else, there are oodles of philosophies on what makes ‘good theatre.’ Through the course of this 8-week class, our teen actors will explore thirteen -isms of performance in a historical sense while also engaging in each of them as actors.
